1st Sunningdale Scout Group was founded in 1910, shortly after the Scouting Association was founded in 1907 by Robert Baden-Powell. It has run continually since then, and is thus one of the oldest Groups in the United Kingdom. We are an active group of five sections: Explorers, Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Squirrels, meeting weekly during term time at the Scout HQ in Sandy Lane, Sunningdale.
We’re delighted to announce that as of August ’24, 14 adults have volunteered to become leaders – thank you very much!
We now have TWO Squirrel Dreys up and running, on Wednesdays & Fridays. We also have TWO Beaver Colonies up and running, on Mondays & Tuesdays. However, we’re still looking for more leaders, especially for Beavers and Explorers.
If your young person would like to join 1st Sunningdale Scouts (in any section) and you are interested to find out more about becoming a leader please contact Hilary Crofton and they could be jumping the waiting list and joining us from this September.
