   |   By

After a long wait, we are pleased to share with you that 1st Sunningdale Scouts will be holding a Quiz Night on Thursday 7th October 2021.

The event will be held at Holy Trinity Church on 7th October, doors open at 18.30 with the quiz starting around 20:00, and finishing around 22.30. The ticket price is just £15 for the quiz, a meal, your first drink and entry into the Heads & Tails competition offering the chance to win £50. There will be a drinks bar, and we will be running a raffle with a range of fantastic prizes generously donated from local businesses.

If you would like to secure one of the tables for 8 people please email at your earliest convenience. We’ve now sold 16 tables, so there are only four left.

We will also be running a raffle on the night with 20 fantastic prizes donated by local companies, including: a three night break away at a holiday cottage in Kent; a four-ball golf round at Sunningdale Heath; 1 hour beauty treatment, to mention only a few. If you, members of your table or family & friends would like to purchase tickets you can do so online here…

It’s going to be a great night of fun and fund raising, with all proceeds going towards rebuilding the Scout Hut.

See you there!

75th Anniversary Year for 1st Sunningdale

As well as appealing for “manpower” help, the Scouts were also aiming to raise £2,300 during 1985 for a new floor, lights, storage heater and roof repairs. New guttering costing £50 had recently been added to the hut, paid for from a grant given by Windsor and Maidenhead Youth Opportunity. Other donations were also received from Sunningdale Parish Council (£150), the Prince Philip Trust Fund (£200), Windsor and Maidenhead Borough Lottery (£1,000). The Scouts aimed to raise the remaining £1,000 from their firework fiesta, jumble sales and the barn dance to celebrate the 75th Anniversary.
