It’s been very challenging going between face-to-face & virtual meetings, in bubbles and then not, so it was great to be able to acknowledge all the hard work done by the leaders who have carried on Scouting alongside their own family life, home schooling and working from home.…

Beavers Report 2021

We started the term with being able to meet face to face but we were restricted in terms of the number we were allowed to have at our sessions. We split into 2 bubbles and held our sessions at Earlywood. It was great to be back together and especially enjoying be outdoors.…

Cubs Report 2021

It’s been a very challenging 12 months, going between F2F & virtual meetings, in bubbles but Sarah. Katy and I have managed to still produce a varied programme for the Cubs to enjoy.

Sebastian the Goat joined one of our early Zoom meetings and we had an online cookery session making spring rolls as part of the International badge – absolutely delicious!…

Explorers Report 2021

Another year for the Explorers that has been hit by Covid. During the lockdowns we joined in with the Group online sessions – who will forget the Taskmaster challenges we filmed, with the ‘Guess the number of objects down the trousers’ a particular favourite!…

Scouts back for the new term

We are back to the new term, missing old scouts who have moved on to Explorers, but welcoming new scouts from Cubs, the more things change the more they stay the same!

After a year and half of lockdown scouting where we ran mainly virtual camps and a managed, in-between lockdowns, to have the odd meeting we are now meeting back at the hut with the whole troop.…

Dragon Racing

Hawaii Five-O? Almost!

Earlier today some of the 1st Sunningdale Cubs took part in the Berkshire Scouts Dragon Boat Regatta at the Wokingham Waterside Centre, near Reading. With some great teamwork, Alfie, Benoit, Emily, Etta, Harry, Ollie, Owen, Peter and Tom, paddled to the drumbeat provided by Ollie’s Mum Wendy.

Not even Covid19 stops up having a camping session at Beavers! We may not have been able to sleep in the tents but we were able to put them up. We are lucky to have Earlywood so close and we have made full use of this outdoor facility this term.…
