Quiz Night

1st Sunningdale’s October Quiz night at Holy Trinity Church was a night of gastronomic delights and cerebral challenges.

With over 168 attendees, across 21 teams, the Scout group was able to raise an impressive £3,919 for its ‘New Hut’ project, whilst also contributing to the church’s ‘Transforming Trinity’ project.

The evening started with excellent Jamaican-style food provided by Coco La Belle, whilst the bar kept the participants refreshed. A raffle and silent auction, with a fabulous range of prizes – generously donated by local companies – also proved popular.

The quiz consisted of 6 rounds across a range of topics, and was hotly contested with the leading team changing hands throughout the evening. In the end it was a close finish, with the top teams having just one point’s difference. Our winners were ‘Professor Quiz Witty’ with a score of 68, who just managed to see off ‘The Tequila Sunrisers’ and ‘Curry Club’.

Quizmaster and Chair of 1st Sunningdale Scouts, Michael King, says “Exceeding all expectations, we had a huge amount of interest for our Quiz Night. It was such a fun night, with great people, an incredible atmosphere and fantastic food. Most importantly we raised a amazing amount of money for our new Scout hut – a positive step towards our fund-raising target of £300,000.”

“Special thanks must go to our sponsors for the night and to all the local companies that donated prizes. Thank you for making it an unforgettable night. It was such a success that we hope to see everyone again next year!”
