Beavers from 1st Sunningdale visited Silwood Park, part of Imperial College. They had an exciting hour taking a look at bugs and creepy crawlies using magnifying glasses and microscopes.
Catalina, one of the lecturers at the University, was kind enough to drop in and show the bugs on the large screen at 200x resolution, enabling them to see the little creepy-crawlies in all their glory.
The children then spent some time towards the end of the session creating their own creepy-crawly superheroes using some of the the superpowers that they had seen earlier in the session under the microscope.
A great time was had by all and thanks to Imperial College and Catalina for organizing the session.
We’re aiming to be back in the summer for pond dipping and exploring the woods at Silwood Park.
