1st Sunningdale Scout Group gathered in Broomhall Recreation Ground to celebrate the life of Sir Julian Crofton (Group Chair 2003-2018). The oak bench was placed alongside the tree which had been planted 10 years earlier as part of the Centenary Celebration.

1st Sunningdale received a very generous gift of a minibus from Grant Thompson, a previous Group Scout Leader. It was soon put to great use by the Explorers who used it shortly afterwards for a trip to the Mendips.

1st Sunningdale have a history helping in the Community. Over the years all the Sections have helped at the Broomhall Recreation Ground, planting bulbs and raising money at the Sunningdale Carnivals. Here are the Scouts refreshing the flower displays.

We had a Ball at the Berystede Hotel in Sunninghill. It was a wonderful evening and our most successful fundraising event to date.
August 2014
At 5am the Scouts left Heathrow for a canoeing trip in Finland. They’d had their first international trip back in 2012 when they attended a Scandinavian Jamboree in Finland. They enjoyed it so much they decided to go back.

Braving the elements our intrepid Scouts (& Leaders) attended their first Winter Camp at Gilwell, The Scout Association’s HQ. It’s a fantastic weekend with plenty of outdoor activities and attended by Scout Groups from all over the country. It’s become an annual event and they all come home completely exhausted…

The first time the Cubs went for a Kip in a Ship – sleeping overnight on HMS Belfast. It’s become a firm favourite and they’ve been going every couple of years ever since.

In December 1st Sunningdale took over the Cordes Hall to put on a show. All the Sections took part, and it was certainly a night to remember.
