The 1st Sunningdale Scout Group Trustee Board is responsible for the financial management, facilities, maintenance, safety, and overall operation of the 1st Sunningdale Scout Group.
The board meets once or twice a term with occasional, additional special meetings as required.
Members of the committee are a mix of long serving, experienced scouters, parents and committed members of the local communities.
Michael King
Chair (2019)I decided to join the Committee because at the time my son was enjoying being involved in Scouting, as a Beaver, and there was a request for support. Whilst I could not commit to being a Leader, the Committee role has provided me the opportunity to give something back to the community. My children are also proud that I am involved in something that positively affects them and their friends.
Hilary Crofton
Joint Group Scout Leader (2006)The Scouts require that an active GSL is part of the Executive Committee. Please find Hilary’s profile in the Leaders Section
Emma Reed
Treasurer (2023)My son joined 1st Sunningdale as a Beaver, continued through Cubs and has just moved up to Scouts. 1st Sunningdale has provided him with so many great experiences and “firsts” including group camps, sleeping on HMS Belfast, kayaking, dragon boating and the list goes on. My daughter saw how much fun her brother was having and decided she did not want to miss out, so joined Scouts last year. I am very grateful to all the leaders who volunteer their time and energy to provide these opportunities to my children and many, many others and so I decided it was time to make my contribution and step into the role of treasurer.
Omair Nazimi
Trustee (2024)Omair became a Trustee in September 2024, bringing a strong passion for helping young people reach their full potential. He’s excited to contribute to the projects the board is involved with. As a qualified accountant, Omair works for a major household consumer company. Originally from the London Borough of Hounslow, he relocated to Surrey Heath in 2021. Omair has a rich background in charity work, having served as a Trustee for several organizations in Hounslow, where he played key roles in grant assessment, rebranding, website development, food bank strategies, and homelessness support. He is also a Trustee for Home-Start Surrey Heath, driven by his belief in supporting families early to help children thrive.
Dominic Leigh
Trustee (2024)I joined the Trustees because I have loved Scouting ever since I joined Beavers all the way back in 2008. I wanted to give something back to the community and the group, and being part of the committee gives me this opportunity.
We still require more people to join the Support Groups, so if you feel inspired to join, please email enquiries@sunningdalescouts.org.uk
