  • Bastille at parent and child camp

This weekend some of the Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts (plus their parents) took part in the 55th District Parent & Child Camp at Earleywood on the theme of Liberté, Egalité et Fraternité.  In spite of the weather (!) everyone had a great time completing different challenges on a French theme e.g. oeuf et cuillere (egg…

  • Why we’re launching our Twenty Four for ’24 campaign….. Of the 73 young people on our waiting list, 60 are age eligible and could JOIN TOMORROW if we had space. Unfortunately, all our sections are full. Places depend on capacity and only become available if a child in the Group decides to leave OR a parent volunteers/steps forward to help lead.…

Reverend Jon showed us the plaques inside the Church and the Cubs lit a candle in remembrance. Ahead of Sunday’s parade the Cubs also got “crafty”…

  • Leaf Drawings

This week’s session was all about the environment and several of the Cubs made pledges as to what they could do to help – see photo.  We also did blind tastings of plant-based versions of some Cub favourites (cocktail sausages, mild cheddar, pepperoni, chicken slices, milk). It’s fair to say, although some of the Cubs…

  • Harvest Bounty

There was a good representation of Beavers and Cubs at the Harvest Festival service this morning at Holy Trinity Church, Sunningdale. Harry King and Oscar Whittaker (both Cubs) took part in the service, saying prayers and doing one of the readings, whilst the Beavers made a bright turquoise line as they took our supermarket vouchers…

  • It’s been a very challenging 12 months, going between F2F & virtual meetings, in bubbles but Sarah. Katy and I have managed to still produce a varied programme for the Cubs to enjoy. Sebastian the Goat joined one of our early Zoom meetings and we had an online cookery session making spring rolls as part…
