Volunteer as a Leader or Section Assistant

Inspiring generations with #SkillsForLife

As 1st Sunningdale Leaders, we’re very proud to be part of the UK Scouting team who weekly help almost half a million 6-25 year-olds to step up, speak up, and gain the skills they need to succeed in life.

1st Sunningdale is where Young People make new friends and have amazing adventures they will cherish forever. Camping, raft building, hill walking and cooking on open fires are just a few of the activities our Young People love. It’s a place they can have fun, play games, work in a team and take on new challenges. All our activities are designed to help each individual develop practical skills for life, boost their well-being and connect with others. For many Young People Scouting is the only place where they can do this. It’s a safe environment without disturbance from digital devices.

Being able to offer the unique Scouting experience to more Young People in the area is extremely important to us, which is why we are working on recruiting more Leaders alongside the hut rebuild. Recently, six new Assistant Leaders have joined us, but we need more if we are to have 2 x Beaver Colonies, 2 x Cub Packs etc – doubling the total number we can currently accommodate. We can only make this happen if we also double the number of Leaders – can you help us to make this happen?

All new Leaders participate in The Scout Association training programme, and are supported throughout. You can help with any Section, even if your child is in a different Section. If your child is on our Waiting List, becoming a Leader will fast-track them to join 1st Sunningdale.
