Squirrels are the youngest section at 1st Sunningdale. Squirrels start aged four and stay until they move up to Beavers when they are six.
In February 2023 we opened our very first Squirrel Scouts section at 1st Sunningdale. Squirrels is specifically aimed at 4-6 year olds with an age-appropriate programme created by The Scout Association, packed full of games and activities, with its very own badges.
Over the past year we have had such an amazing response and demand for Squirrel places that in addition to meeting on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30pm, we now are opening a new Lodge on Fridays as well between 4:30 to 5:30pm.
Every week, Squirrels gather to grow and learn their way through lots of different games and activities.
Squirrels can achieve anything they set their minds to – and they have lots of fun along the way.
The one-hour sessions are a brilliant opportunity for young people to take their first step into being part of Scouts, and they’ll help everyone get ready for the adventure of school too.
Sessions will be packed with outdoors activities, fun, games, badges, laughter, and so much more to help our youngest members learn the skills they need for life. Of course, none of it would be possible without the support of the amazing leaders who plan and deliver such an inspiring programme.
